If a certain country is held in bandage to another country, then that subjugated country will have to wage war in order to attain liberation from the chains of slavery. That’s why liberation from worldly bondages is essential for human beings. We have noticed that wherever there is worldly subservience- whether economic, political or social – the proper development of the innate qualities or the genius of human beings, remain remote. That’s why in every sphere of life ,liberation is necessary ; liberation from the bandage of staticity is a must.
The Spring Festival (Vasantaotsava) is a good approach. The main internal facet of this festival is that it is connected with complete surrender. The chief benefit is internal, no need for any type of external display. This surrender to the Supreme Consciousness propels human beings towards Him, so this is a psycho- spiritual phenomenon. The Unit ego becomes one with the cosmic ego. Param Purus is colourless, He has no bandage. In contrast, every jiiva is bound as their unit minds colored by various desires & attractions. So to offer the colors of the mind to Param Purusa & become colorless is the main aim.
The only difference between jiiva & Shiva is that of bandage. Jiivas are bound but Parama Purusa is not. The offering of physical colors is purely symbolic. The main thing is clearing oneself of one’s psychic colour, i.e. attachments of the mind. So playing with different colors is exclusively for the social realm. There is absolutely zero benefit.
