Anandam : Three poems

Lord’s Kingdom

The Kingdom Of God Bible Storybook: New Testament -
O Lord! take me in Thy heart
Let me tarry in Thy kingdom
Thy kingdom is bliss
Where a snake is harmless like grass
And a tiger is lovelier than a rose
Fear takes on wings.

There are no “entry forbidden” in Thy kingdom
There is no entry by gate passes.
And those in front and those behind
do not push each other
There is no race there is no colour,
there No distinction is no bar,
There are no sentries, No protocoal.
No search, No wariants.

1972 Parable

Spaces of Resistance: From Indian Coffee House to Tihar Jail — Jamhoor

The creatures of darkness
Think they have won
And carried the Sun
To the darkest cave
Forces of ignorance and superstition feel
they have blotted out the Sun.
They sing, they rejoice
And shout with one voice
“Foul is fair, wrong is right
Mankind will do without light !”
These haughty rulers
These ignorant forces
Do not know-
That falsehood can never triumph
Although lies may explode like a bomb
Creating huge craters
To the delight of traitors
To mankind Truth will triumph
And the sun will be out
Forcing the creatures of darkness
To crawl back to their homes underground

Youth Is A Dynomo

Youth power - Global Fund for Children

Now Boys !
From Bootleggers to bootlickers
The country is infested with blood suckers
Listen Boys!
A man dies of hunger on the road
You look in vain in the newspaper
Weather is fine for tomorrow
With air-conditioned seminar on hunger
A man dies a second time
It is reported in an obscure corner
There is a little ripple
And that’s all A high powered enquiry
Verdict All said and done,
there is nothing Wrong with the State.
Now Boys!
All this pop corn culture
Is manufactured by greed’s vulture
To consume youth’s energy
Which is a dynamo.
