UNSEEN, HE MOVES AMONG US
Sis. Hemavatii was in London pursuing her postgraduate studies. As her six-month stay neared its end, she reflected on how much she would miss the weekly satsaṅga and kiirtan when she returned to Brazil. She shared her thoughts with Dada Danaviira, who encouraged her to continue singing kiirtan back home. However, she was uncertain, admitting that she didn’t know how to play the guitar. To her surprise, Dada offered to teach her some simple kiirtan tunes using just a few chords.
Back in Bahia, Brazil, only a few margiis were regularly attending the DC, where she began leading the kiirtans. To attract more people, Mr. Jivesh, a senior margii, decided to offer a weekly asana class before the DC. They promoted it with flyers and online announcements.
The first week, only she attended. The second week, one new person joined. The third week, yet another newcomer joined the group. That same evening, just before the DC started, a stranger arrived late. Though he had missed the asana class, he joined the collective meditation.
Hema and Mr. Jivesh briefly introduced him to the concept of DC. Together, they sang a Prabhát Saḿgiita, did kiirtan, meditated, and, after Guru Puja, read a short passage from one of Baba’s books.
Afterward, the new visitor looked around and suddenly asked, “Where is He?” pointing at Baba’s picture.
Sis. Hemavatii gently replied, “Baba has already left his physical body.”
The man was astonished. “Is this a joke?” he asked. “When is He coming back? Won’t He give a talk?”
The group smiled and explained that Baba was no longer physically present. To their amazement, the man laughed and said, “You must be joking! As I was arriving here, He was at the door downstairs. He called me by my name, welcomed me, and told me I would enjoy this gathering. Then, He came up with me, sang the mantras with us, danced during kiirtan, and, after we sat for meditation, He left. When is He coming back? Will He be here next week?”
The group was left speechless. A wave of joy and deep emotion filled their hearts as they realized that Baba was truly with them—guiding and inspiring them. With renewed devotion, they continued their spiritual journey together.
This story took place on February 1, 2025 —yes, just this year! Baba is still among us, guiding those whose samskáras are ripe for sádhaná. His presence continues to inspire and direct us. As the Supreme Command states, “…to guide others on the path of righteousness,” it is clear that we must continue the work of pracár, especially now, as many centers have closed during the pandemic.

समूह अवाक रह गया। खुशी और गहरी भावना की लहर उनके दिलों में भर गई जब उन्होंने महसूस किया कि बाबा वास्तव में उनके साथ थे – उनका मार्गदर्शन और प्रेरणा दे रहे थे।
