A SPECIAL TECHNIQUE OF EXPLOITATION – Editorial

The rule has been prevalent for ages: might is right. The physically strong tend to overpower the weaker, exploiting them. However, in this era of advanced science and technology, a unique form of exploitation is emerging, known as Psycho-Economic exploitation. It represents the latest and most dangerous form of exploitation. The cunning first weakens people’s psychology in various ways, then paralyzes their minds and exploits them economically. Unfortunately, few are contemplating this shrewd exploitation, which includes suppressing the indigenous language and culture of local communities. This is followed by the extensive propagation of pseudo-culture through literature, songs, dances, and dramas. Pornography literature is now prevalent, degrading the minds of the youth and others. Imposing numerous restrictions on women by making them economically dependent on men, coupled with an psychological education system and frequent political interference, contribute to the problem. The negation of Dharma in the name of Secularism, society’s balkanization into numerous castes and groups, and the use of unnatural and harmful birth control methods further damage the societal fabric. The control of various mass media, such as newspapers, radio, and TV, in the hands of capitalists exacerbates both intellectual and psycho-economic exploitation, posing a great danger to humanity today.

What is the proutistic solution to these problems? Firstly, a powerful popular sentiment must be immediately generated for the liberation of intellect. All intellectuals must keep their intellect pure and unblemished. Setting aside inertia and prejudice, they need to engage with the common people, thinking about their welfare. By supporting all anti-exploitative movements and assisting the common people, intellectuals can help eradicate all forms of exploitation. This approach will stabilize the societal structure and elevate the intellectual standards of the common people. Only then can human society progress towards a brilliant future with rapid strides, guided by the principle: A’tma moks’a’rtham jagat hita’ya ca.
