The Call of Universal Collectivism.

A’c. Gun’iindra’nanda Avadhu’ta

The evolution of life consummates when it takes the most potential structure of human beings. It signifies the increasing degree of reflection of consciousness on successive evolving mind which marks the development or the expansion of mind. Life moves through the consequential stages of the expansion of mind in different forms through clashes in both physical and psychic spheres. The longing for the Great remains the inner motivation behind the evolution of life. The unit consciousness expressed in various life forms cherishes the ultimate submission or merger with the Supreme Consciousness, the essential source of all the mundane, physical, mental, and metaphysical faculties of life.

Basic survival instincts, like eating, sleeping, fearing and procreating duly develop in lower species which are also imbibed by human beings but the human mind having independence in thinking and faculties of propriety and impropriety differ from the animal lives. Of course, some higher animals develop some sentiments. But after achieving the human structure, the human mind dwells upon the extrovertive sentiments. Behind all human activities, sentiments play a pivotal role which are created out of their own intended selfish interests(A’tma-sukha Tattva). Sentiment helps build up the family’s integrity and makes collective survival possible. All those sentiments which motivate one to keep the members of a family united by serving the interest of all the members, also create prejudices and preoccupations regarding others’ interests most of the time. The proper adjustment between self-interest and collective interests has been a big challenge till date the world over.

When the sentimentalities grow for the particular jurisdiction of a geographical area to develop, it ignores the development of the other areas. It is termed as ‘Geo-sentiment’ and it works actively to organize all the activities with geo- sentiments in the form of geo- social, geo- political, geo- economics etc. To overcome this narrow mentality, one must study and undergo Spiritual practices regularly to help the mind grow in magnitude. When human sentiments widen its periphery and engulf the wider range of population in the form of groups in the name of caste, community, race and religion, it is called Socio-sentiment which works in all spheres of social life like socio- social, socio- economic, religious, Socio- political etc. Socio- sentiments are greater in jurisdiction but it is more dangerous than the Geo- sentiments. Behind these sentimentalities, human self-vested interests(a’tma- sukha tattva) are the prime motivation. The Socio-sentiment promotes psycho-social, psycho- economic and psycho- cultural exploitations by the stronger sections of society(so-called the intellectual class) of simple and weaker sections of society.

Caste system in India, racism(between white and black in Africa, red Indians in the USA), differences between aboriginals and outsiders, elimination of indigenous population, formation of groups and societies in the name of caste(caste-ism), community(communal-ism), religion, nationality (national-ism) etc. are the examples of Socio-sentiments. Lots of social clashes among groups, communities and nationalities in the name of gaining control of the collective body and their resources by one over the weaker ones have only created viles in the blood of people who were ignored, suppressed, subdued or defeated. Likewise, lots of bloodshed have taken place in the name of religious dominance in the history of the world. Exploiters always make out some or other strategies to exploit fellow human beings to create inferiority and fear complexes by establishing themselves superior to them. To exploit people socially, the caste system, especially in India, was promoted and even today it is preserved and being protected. Likewise, to exploit people psycho-economically, religious dogmas were created and even today they are promoted by religious leaders by instilling fear psychosis in the name of God. They usually present the scriptural texts before people by distorting their meaning to safeguard their own interests as well as the interests of the specific religious faith (dogmatic beliefs) of the followers.

There is another sentiment which is called ‘Humano- sentiment’ and claims to work for the promotion of human interests but actually in the backdrop of high sounding humanitarian appeal there remains the vested interests(self-centric idea of maximizing profits) of promoting their business at the cost of lives of the general masses. Adulteration of foods, processing of foods(readymade or fast foods) to stimulate the cravings of people only undermining the wholesome food and nutrition value, use of chemicals and pesticides to increase the agricultural products which damages the vital organs of the body after long term consumption, allopathy medicines (life-saving drugs) which have side-effects and rather ultimately kill people having multi-organ failures, war in the name of geo-economic politics which result in genocide, dismantling the socio- economic structures of weak nations and elemination of regimes are the evils of the humano- sentiments. In respect to other living beings, the so-called humanists of today believe that they(other lower species) are meant for their convenience, comforts and luxuries. So there is rampant cleaning of dense forests including Amazon Forests, adding pollution to the air, chemicalisation of agricultural fields, killing of animals for food etc. Thus the self-centred vested interests of individuals as well as collective bodies have done so far a great harm to human society. This is the prime time to effect a revolutionary shift from self-centric idea (A’tma-sukha Tattva) to the ideology of Collective interests, Collective Welfare of one and all(Sama-Sama’ja Tattva- the principle of Social Equanimity), the principle of Universal Collectivism based on the idea of Supreme Oneness.

The value and significance of human life is to realize the Supreme Consciousness within while maintaining a harmonious adjustment with fellow human beings and flora and fauna. The existence of human beings cannot be preserved by ignoring the existence of all other living and non-living entities of the world phenomenally. All are integrated with each other by nature as all are the veritable expressions of the Supreme Consciousness in different forms and colours. All are interdependent. Nothing is independent. This is a limitation of the individual selves. So, due care and concern to safeguard the interests and existence of all is the sole duty and responsibility of human beings being the most developed entities on the planet Earth. Thus all sorts of self-vested interests must be undermined in the greater interests of all. That’s why, all types of narrow sentimentalities promoting various kinds of dogmas (irrational and illogical ideas) and exploitations at all levels in all forms must be drastically stopped. All those fabricated laws and regulations which have been framed in favour/ interests of particular groups, communities, societies and nations must be amended or made ineffective. No narrow sentimentalities and ‘-isms’ promoting narrow mentality should be encouraged or promoted. Humanity and the Human Society has to be built up on the basis of human cardinal values (principles of morality- Yama and Niyama) and the common and universal goal of realization of the Supreme Consciousness should be accepted and set for all with whole hearted kindness to protect the existence of flora and fauna. There must be maximum utilisation of all the resources of the world- mudane, physical, supra- mundane, metaphysical and spiritual and products should be distributed among all the beneficiaries without even a bit sense of prejudices and vices.

The moment is opportune, the day is auspicious to respond to the Supreme Call of the Supreme Consciousness (to establish Sama- Sama’ja Tattva) by moving in unison towards the cherished goal of Supreme Oneness (with the true spirit of Sam’gacchadhvam’…) barring all sorts of narrow sentimentalities based on self-vested interests in any form anywhere in the world. Humanity has already suffered a lot in the name of pseudo-humanism. Let’s integrate ourselves following the process of Self- Realisation (spiritual practices) and work unitedly and relentlessly together and selflessly for the welfare and progress of all having firm faith in the Supreme Oneness of all(the Neo-Humanist Approach).
