21st June is marked to celebrate ‘International Yoga Day’ in a resolution of the UN session in 2014 on the request of Indian PM Shrii Narendra Modi. The proposal was discussed in the house and consented by 175 countries of the world to observe every year considering and highlighting its multi-fold benefits for physical wellness, mental balance and spiritual upliftment. Yoga is an ancient well experimented science developed by Yogis over thousands of years of practices on the soil of India to discover the essence of being by an individual which reveals the truth of connectivity of the individual with the Cosmic Entity (Supreme Consciousness) that controls and enlightens the human mind and spirit for everything.
Yoga is a complete science in itself with eight-fold practices, viz: Yama, Niyama, Asanas, Pranayama, Pratyahar, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi. It is an inclusive practice which integrates individual/s with Collectivity relieving all sorts of ailments and complications threatening health and mental peace. The Celebration of Yoga Day internationally signifies the propagation of the relevance of Yoga practices in individual and collective life which inspires the mass to remain fit physically and mentally by their own efforts by regular practice and adopting yogic lifestyle which will certainly bring about a considerable change in individual and collective patterns to view life beyond all sorts of narrow sentiments, selfish (greedy) tendencies, injustices (oppression, suppression & exploitation).
Yogic outlook(Neo-humanist) is inherently welfare oriented which aims to love everything as the expression of the Supreme, feel oneness and inspires to serve all with the ideation of the Supreme. It promotes Peace and the Cosmic Brotherhood which is essentially required in a world torn and ravaged by animosity, war, dominance, injustices, discriminations, exploitations, dogmatic beliefs etc. A human society in the true sense of the term can only be established when there is a sense of service, welfare and concern for all(animates and inanimates)- a holistic vision. Nobody should be uncared for. And the available resources on the Earth Planet must be harnessed, shared and utilised optimally for the survival and upliftment of all.
The disciplined practices of Yoga in daily life makes humans a superhuman which is a dire need of the Day! We need a Neohumanist Leadership(Sadvipra Leadership) which will spring forth out of Yogic practices in the days to come. Thus, Yoga is a call of the Day, a demand of the Present! The recognition and the celebration of Yoga Day internationally will inspire humanity to prevail a sense to establish a one and indivisible Human Society one day!
