The Principles of Morality is the Base of Humanity : Editorial

Humanity is the greatest truth of life. As it exists at the highest pedestral of living existence having distinct features of independent thinking, conscience and aspirations to become great places it as the most conscientious being in the universe. Human beings are supposed to possess the potentialities of realising divinity within. Humans have a pioneering role to lead all by considering oneness of all and extend needed care and concern towards all.

Human beings must cherish an inclusive ideology which must define the purpose and objective of life. The goal and the path to move towards the goal makes important prerequisites to lead a life of fulfillment. It is said that Life divine is the goal, Sa’dhana’ is the means and morality is the base of life.

Moral principles define the insights to make proper adjustments in life while moving towards the Subjective goal of life. In absence of that humanity may be reduced to animality or may degrade further crudification which is ultra vires to the purpose of human life.

Yoga Scripture defines ten principles of Morality like Ahimsa'(non- affliction to others), Satya(proper coordination of one’s thoughts and deeds for the welfare of others), Asteya(Non-Stealing and Non-deprivation of belongings of others for one’s selfish ends), Brahmacarya(to establish in the ideation of Brahmahood while dealing with objectivities of life) and Aparigraha (Non- accumulation of objects of requirements beyond one’s need) are called Yama Sa’dhana’. The Principles of Yama help control the thoughts and behaviour of man while dealing with this world whereas the five principles of Niyama help regulate or channelise the controlled psychic will force towards the Supreme goal of the Supreme Subjectivity in life. The Principles of Niyama are Shaoch (physical and psychic cleanliness), Santosh (Contentment of mind), Tapah(undergoing penance to achieve the fulfillment in life), Sva’dhya’ya(having proper understanding of sacred texts to make considerable transformation in life to cherish the goal) and Iishvara Pranidha’na (practising complete surrender to the Supreme Subjectivity by Pratya’ha’ra).

On analysing these ten tenets of human cardinal values of life we can conclude that they cover all the situations of human life to practice control and regulation to facilitate the twin goal of achievements in life, that is, “Subjective Approach through Objective Adjustment” which I can say, is the celebrated concept of a balanced human life. These are the secrets of maintaining a happy blending in both individual and collective life avoiding unnecessary confusions and chaos in either life.
