Nothing is hidden from him
Today I remembered an incident. It’s a bit personal, but you’ll get a glimpse of how Baba knows all seven generations of his disciples.
I’ll start here. I’ve been yearning to see Baba for days. Suprabha had been insisting that we go to Kolkata. She was feeling very restless to see Baba. The attraction was so strong that I finally set out for Kolkata.
I left from Punia and reached Kolkata in the morning. After taking bath in the retiring room at Howrah station, I reached Tiljala Ashram at around 10 a.m. When I reached the Ashram, the scene seemed a bit different. Upon enquiry, I learned that Baba had been angry with the workers for several days. No one was allowed to enter Baba’s room. Baba was extremely angry with the progress of work. Only the PA would go to Baba’s room when needed. Meetings, etc., were all closed.
The workers were also very disappointed and sad. Despite so many people being present, there was a silence in the Ashram. It was spread like a shadow, we too became worried and troubled, cherishing the thirst of Baba’s darshan all the way, flying on the wings of imagination where we were not even aware of our existence, it felt as if all the imaginations were shattered.
Leaving everything to fate, I sat in a corner of the ashram, meanwhile there was some commotion, on enquiring I came to know that Baba has ordered all the workers to reach his room immediately. All the workers quickly ran towards Baba’s residence, everyone felt relieved, the silence of many days was broken, the grace of the Supreme Being had been bestowed, hope and enthusiasm also filled our hearts.
Now we will definitely get the darshan, the Lord will surely fulfill our hopes, our hearts were filled with joy and excitement. After a while Didi Anand Karuna came walking towards us quickly, she looked very happy, she said, today in the reporting, your family is being discussed.
Me and Suprabha were astonished, Didi Anand Karuna kept on talking, she said, Baba said, Pradyumna studied a lot but did not take up a job. There was a lot of ancestral property at home. Who would take care of it? She told many other things also about my family, which she heard from Baba.
Then she said, Dada, do you know? Baba said, Pradyumna’s mother-in-law is a Bengali. By then Vijayanand Dada had also arrived. Dada also became happy and said, Pradyumna Dada, you all should always come. Baba is so happy with your coming. Baba feels so good when you come with your family. The information about Suprabha’s connection with Bengal increased the curiosity of the Dada and Didi’s of Bengal. Everyone started asking.
I told Suprabha, you tell them, She said, No, you tell them. Then I narrated that Suprabha’s maternal home is in Navagadh of Purulia district. There are three small estates in Purulia district, Kashipur, Gadh Jaipur and Navagadh, all are Singhdevs. The queen of Gadh Jaipur had donated land for Anand Nagar. All the princely states are related to each other. Now the princely states do not exist.
Once I had gone to Navagarh on invitation, Suprabha’s brother Shri Arvind ji was with me, I was overwhelmed to see the welcome of me as a son-in-law as per Bengali culture, I cannot forget that. Just two days before my arrival in Navagarh, the famous Bengali writer Mrs. Mahasweta Devi had left the navagadh and had gone back to Kolkata. She stayed there for two weeks, she was writing a novel on Kheria tribe. She had a deep friendship with my wife’s maternal uncle and whenever she came, she used to stay with him. Accordingly Suprabha had also become a Bengali, Baba revealed this secret, such is my Baba, nothing is hidden from him.

उनसे कुछ भी छिपा नहीं है।
आज मुझे एक घटना याद आ गई। यह थोड़ी निजी बात है, लेकिन आपको इस बात की एक झलक मिलेगी कि बाबा अपने शिष्यों की सात पीढ़ियों को कैसे जानते हैं।
मैं यहीं से शुरुआत करता हूँ। मैं कई दिनों से बाबा के दर्शन के लिए तरस रहा था। सुप्रभा ज़िद कर रही थी कि हम कोलकाता चलें। वह बाबा के दर्शन के लिए बहुत बेचैन थी। आकर्षण इतना प्रबल था कि मैं आखिरकार कोलकाता के लिए निकल पड़ा।
मैं पुनिया से निकला और सुबह कोलकाता पहुँच गया। हावड़ा स्टेशन के विश्राम कक्ष में स्नान करने के बाद, मैं लगभग 10 बजे तिलजला आश्रम पहुँचा। आश्रम पहुँचने पर, दृश्य कुछ बदला हुआ सा लगा। पूछताछ करने पर पता चला कि बाबा कई दिनों से कार्यकर्ताओं से नाराज़ थे। बाबा के कमरे में किसी को भी जाने की इजाज़त नहीं थी। काम की प्रगति से बाबा बेहद नाराज़ थे। ज़रूरत पड़ने पर केवल निजी सहायक ही बाबा के कमरे में जाते थे। बैठकें वगैरह सब बंद थीं।
कार्यकर्ता भी बहुत निराश और उदास थे। इतने सारे लोगों की मौजूदगी के बावजूद, आश्रम में सन्नाटा पसरा हुआ था। छाया की तरह फैल गया था, हम भी चिंतित और परेशान हो गए, रास्ते भर बाबा के दर्शन की प्यास संजोए, कल्पना के पंखों पर उड़ते रहे जहाँ हमें अपने अस्तित्व का भी भान नहीं था, ऐसा लगा जैसे सारी कल्पनाएँ चकनाचूर हो गईं।
सब कुछ भाग्य पर छोड़कर मैं आश्रम के एक कोने में बैठ गया, इसी बीच कुछ हलचल हुई, पूछने पर पता चला कि बाबा ने सभी कार्यकर्ताओं को तुरंत अपने कक्ष में पहुँचने का आदेश दिया है। सभी कार्यकर्ता जल्दी से बाबा के निवास की ओर दौड़े, सभी ने राहत महसूस की, कई दिनों का सन्नाटा टूट गया, परमपिता परमात्मा की कृपा हुई, आशा और उत्साह भी हमारे हृदय में भर गया।
अब हमें दर्शन अवश्य मिलेंगे, प्रभु हमारी आशाएँ अवश्य पूरी करेंगे, हमारे हृदय आनंद और उत्साह से भर गए। थोड़ी देर बाद आनंद करुणा दीदी तेज़ी से हमारी ओर चलती हुई आईं, वे बहुत खुश लग रही थीं, उन्होंने कहा, आज रिपोर्टिंग में आपके परिवार की चर्चा हो रही है।
मैं और सुप्रभा हैरान थे, आनंद करुणा दीदी बोलती रहीं, बोलीं, बाबा ने कहा, प्रद्युम्न ने खूब पढ़ाई की पर नौकरी नहीं की। घर में बहुत पैतृक संपत्ति थी। उसकी देखभाल कौन करेगा? उन्होंने मेरे परिवार के बारे में और भी बहुत सी बातें बताईं, जो उन्होंने बाबा से सुनी थीं।
फिर बोलीं, दादा, जानते हो? बाबा बोले, प्रद्युम्न की सास बंगाली हैं। तब तक विजयानंद दादा भी आ गए थे। दादा भी खुश हुए और बोले, प्रद्युम्न दादा, आप सबको हमेशा आना चाहिए। बाबा आपके आने से बहुत खुश होते हैं। जब आप अपने परिवार के साथ आते हैं तो बाबा को बहुत अच्छा लगता है। सुप्रभा के बंगाल से जुड़ाव की जानकारी ने बंगाल के दादा और दीदियों की जिज्ञासा बढ़ा दी। सब पूछने लगे।
मैंने सुप्रभा से कहा, आप उन्हें बताइए। उन्होंने कहा, नहीं, आप उन्हें बताइए। फिर मैंने बताया कि सुप्रभा का मायका पुरुलिया जिले के नवागढ़ में है। पुरुलिया जिले में तीन छोटी रियासतें हैं, काशीपुर, गढ़ जयपुर और नवागढ़, सभी सिंहदेव हैं। गढ़ जयपुर की रानी ने आनंद नगर के लिए जमीन दान की थी। सभी रियासतें एक-दूसरे से जुड़ी हुई हैं। अब रियासतें अस्तित्व में नहीं हैं।
एक बार मैं निमंत्रण पर नवागढ़ गया था, सुप्रभा के भाई श्री अरविंद जी मेरे साथ थे, बंगाली संस्कृति के अनुसार दामाद के रूप में मेरा स्वागत देखकर मैं अभिभूत हो गया, मैं इसे भूल नहीं सकता। नवागढ़ पहुंचने के ठीक दो दिन पहले, प्रसिद्ध बंगाली लेखिका श्रीमती महाश्वेता देवी नवागढ़ छोड़कर कोलकाता वापस चली गई थीं। वह दो सप्ताह तक वहाँ रहीं, वह खेरिया जनजाति पर एक उपन्यास लिख रही थीं। मेरी पत्नी के मामा से उनकी गहरी मित्रता थी और जब भी वह आती थीं, उनके साथ रहती थीं। तदनुसार सुप्रभा भी बंगाली हो गई थी । बाबा ने यह रहस्य बताया, ऐसे हैं मेरे बाबा, उनसे कुछ भी छिपा नहीं है।
