The Changing World Order- from narrow ‘isms’ to Universalism

The human mind is always guided by the perceptions it receives from the present external environment. It adapts the inferences of external stimuli it comes across. But the assimilation of thoughts is always prompted or promoted by the inherent reactive momenta. It may not be necessary that all the external vibrations are congenial to one’s reactive momenta. That is why only the conducive vibrations are assimilated according to the degree of one’s assertion for the given time, and the mind dwells upon that. That is, the psychic deliberations and course of action tend to correspond to the congeniality of the ideology of a man. It is observed that the mindset changes when there is a change in the preferences in the changed situation, and it goes on along with the phases of life.

When we think of the making of civilization, we must consider the conglomerations of individual life patterns with other individuals’ life patterns who have different preferences. But  collectivity inspires man to adapt and interact with higher and successively refined expressions which are adopted by others. Human civilization is the collectivity of refined human expressions which evolve in the given geographical limits through the annals of time. That is why, we record the various civilizations on the bosom of Mother Earth in different lengths of time.

The sense of fear in man always guards him against the principles of survival. The love for life and maintaining self-existence propel the human mind to adapt the congenial ways of living. The fear of untoward incidents of natural calamities made humans believe in the supernatural forces of nature, which might take the toll of their lives on the one hand and develop a sense of surrender to them as the forces that controlled life on the other.

So, belief in external power and belief in inherent power in oneself to overcome the obstacles presented by the external forces further strengthened the inner conviction in humans. Confidence evolved in man so that one could do the needful to manage and smooth survival strategies. Curiosity to know new things and mechanisms to harness the potentialities and thus utilize the available resources at hand made the pace of human progress fast. All sorts of discoveries and innovations since the Cimmerian past till date are the result of inquisitiveness in humans to move on while ever changing the individual and collective perceptions and ideologies that guided human expressions.

The society, traveled through the stages of the labor-oriented mindset of people (Shudras), the physical power-oriented mindset of people (Ksatriyas), the intellect-oriented mindset of people (Vipras), and the trade-oriented mindset of people (Vaeshyas). In every phase of the social cycle, one mindset of people dominated and controlled the social cycle, but unfortunately, they became exploiters due to a lack of a comprehensive welfare-oriented ideology of life, and thus the social cycle kept on changing its rulers as the majority of the population revolted against the exploitative regime in each phase.

Today we are under the Vaeshyan Regime, which controls the means of production, the quality and quantity of the products, and their trading. As the Vaeshyas became powerful due to their control of economic power as well as political power, they became decisive to rule the lives of the common masses as well. The fate of humanity is being decided by the corporations and billionaires of the world today under the mesmerizing veil of democracy. Democracy safeguards the interests of the capitalists (Vaeshyas).

We are living in a capitalist regime that is based on the concept of maximizing profits from the production and trading of commodities the world over. An antithesis, namely Communism, came into existence but failed to exist due to its inherent contradictions before achieving its maturity to rule society. Now the whole world has become economically unilaterally capitalist.

Capitalism is based on a self-centric ideology that promotes individual liberty in all respects, ignoring the collective welfare of all. The rich grow richer, and the poor become poorer. The gap between the rich and poor increases day by day, and it happens due to the extreme exploitation by the rich of the poor.

On the other hand, communism talks of the welfare of the exploited and equal distribution of wealth among all, irrespective of all rational considerations. That is why, practically, it does not promote any individual incentives, and the distribution goes beyond the rationale of human cognizance. So it collapsed before its maturity. Communism is purely a matter-centered ideology and does believe in the Supreme Truth of existence (the Supreme Creator) and the co-existence of all.

Presently, the whole world is broadly divided into two sets of psychology, i.e., capitalism and communism. Capitalism is a self-centered ideology supported by a democratic system of governance, whereas communism is a matter-centered ideology supported by a system of absolute dictatorship. In the present Communist regimes, democracy is there for the name shake, but it does not work in practice, though the economic structure does follow capitalist patterns to mass wealth and dominate the poor countries.

It would be more appealing to say that they follow the capitalist economic system and the dictatorial democratic political regime.

It is observed that the whole world is being polarized today into two factions: NATO, led by the USA, and communist countries like Russia, China, North Korea, and Islamic countries like Iran. The era of the Cold War is over now, and the USA (NATO) and Russia started clashing over Ukrainian sovereignty, where Russia seems to be losing its consolidation of economic and strategic strength after Ukraine claims to join NATO, overlooking the interests of Russia.

For the last three years, an aggressive war has been going on between Russia and Ukraine. Ukraine does not want to comply with Russia and likes to associate with NATO. Russia considers NATO its enemy and warns Ukraine not to join it, having apprehension of losing its access to strategic marine trade, etc. NATO has been supporting Ukraine with arms, ammunition, and all necessary weapons to fight Russia. Even NATO has employed its soldiers in Ukraine to fight Russian soldiers. Russia, being reacted, has started purchasing weapons from Iran, China, and North Korea, all of whom are enemies of the USA.

The issue of Israel and Palestine is age-old. The fight for existence between Israel and Arab nations is not new. But the recent war to eliminate Hamas by Israel has been fatal and has reached its climax when lakhs of Filipinos are compelled to move away from Gaza and finally Rafah following the fatal strikes of shells and bombs by Israel. During the war, the casualties of Filipinos crossed over 35 thousand. Every day, people are killed. Israel does not want a ceasefire unless refugees are released by Hamas.

Hamas is being supported by Iran and is not ready to succumb to the shells of Israel. Iran has ambitions to become the leader of all the Muslim nations and has been trying to procure nuclear weapons to consolidate its power. Iran has created its proxy ultras like Hamas, Hooti, and Hizbullah, who are fighting against Israel and NATO and wish to win the sympathy of Arab nations. Iran proxies are constantly attacking trading ships (Hooti) and US army bases in Arab countries and Israel (Hizbullah and Hamas). Overall, the escalating war tensions have weakened the US stronghold and strategic diplomatic relations with Arab countries following the mass killing in Rafah, and animosity in surrounding Islamic countries is increasing, which goes against the diplomatic interests of the US. In that sequel, many Arab countries, though maintaining their neutral stand, have refused to allow the US to use their land for war purposes.

In the process of consolidating its economic and military dominance, the USA has subsequently involved all the NATO countries in war, which is day by day becoming more serious and unpredictable as Israel is not ready to listen to the USA and compromise with Hamas. The seriousness of both the wars—the war between Russia and Ukraine and the war between Israel—is escalating to severe degrees. It has reached an unprecedented level where atom bombs can be used to demolish the establishments of the human habitats of the concerned countries.

The whole world is watching the changing scenario. The world order is changing. The UN has proved itself incapacitated and has become just a spectator. No country is ready to listen to its directives. There is no control or sanction on using fatal warheads, due to which lakhs of civilian and army casualties have taken place till date.

To conclude, there is a severe fight among self-centered (capitalist countries—NATO), matter-centered (communist countries—Russia, China, and North Korea), and dogma-centered (Jews vs. Islam) ideologies in the world today. These narrow sentimentalities cannot exist as they cannot promote universalism and the cosmic brotherhood. “Welfare and happiness for all” must be the guiding principles of all nations. We are all the progeny of the Supreme Creator and have the right to live and promote universal oneness, welfare, and happiness for all. A God-centered

Ideologies are the call of the day. A comprehensive world order is badly needed today to promote the aspirations of humanity as a whole. Today, Neo-humanism (the attitude of inculcating universal love) and PROUT (the theory of socio-economic emancipation) fulfill the aspirations of the people in general. These are God-centered ideologies.
