Baba’s Warnings To Me
First warning
I was working in underground coalmine that was 500 meters deep. We (supervisors and workers) used to walk down with a headlight fixed with a belt on our forehead. Sometimes we also rode on the conveyor belts. But the conveyor belt did not maintain a uniform distance from the roof all through. When one sits on the belt somewhere it could be lower so that we had to lean forward to prevent injury by hitting our heads on the roof.
One day I was riding on the conveyor belt with my assistant to reach to the advanced seam face where all the workers were. About 50 meters before we reached the spot, the conveyor belt suddenly stopped by itself. We alighted from the conveyor and walked down to the working place and “told the mechanic to check why the conveyor stopped. The mechanic tried for thirty minutes but could not find any fault. Then he just pressed the switch and the belt started running again. I did not take it seriously.
After my working shift was over I went to meet my Acaryaji as per my usual routine in the evening. He asked me, “Why did you trouble Baba?” I could not understand what trouble I gave to Baba : I thought I might have entertained some unwanted thoughts that might have caused trouble to Baba. Baba used to say that He wanted His children to be the first class persons. That means what one thinks one should speak and what one says one should act accordingly. Those are the criteria of a first class person. Finally the mystery was revealed when I went to see Baba the following week.
“Baba said, “Had I not stopped the conveyor belt, after 25 meters, the roof was so low that both of you would have smashed your heads completely.” I started crying but Baba continued, “Crying will not solve the problem. You will have to take care in future.”
Second warning
Generally the coal mine used to have three in-charges and three assistants for each shift. That day I was on night shift duty and my other two colleagues were on leave. Suddenly the water pump for a section broke down and water started to accumulate in that section. The water level started to rise rapidly. The pumps had already stopped working for forty five
minutes. Everyone at the work site became nervous because if the problem could not be solved withinthirty minutes, all the expensive machinery would be damaged and all of us would get a charge sheet.
Upon receiving the report, I put on the headlight and mining shoes immediately and rushed to the pumps to troubleshoot the problem. My shoes were immersed in the
flooded water and my feet were completely wet. I could not find any fault on the pumps. I rushed to the main switchboard with wet shoes and without any safety gloves. When I was checking on the 11000 Volt main distribution board, the Chief Electrician also arrived with equipment. He found out that there was a leakage on one of the switchboard panels that I was touching with my bare hands earlier. The Chief Electrician repaired it and all the pumps and machineries were again operational.
I went to see Baba in Jamalpur on the following Saturday. When Baba came to the Jagrti the next day, He asked PA Dada to send me to His room. He started scolding me, “You reckless boy. Do you not understand! Last time I gave you warning to work carefully. On that particular day, one of the electrical switchboards became faulty, with wet shoes and bare hand you were touching the electrical panel. If I would not have stopped the electric current, what would have been your fate?”
He said, “Now I’m giving you the last warning – always use safety equipment when you are on duty and work carefully! If anybody gives you some advice, think carefully and then proceed to work.”
Third warning
One day I was on an inspection tour to the underground mine. When I reached the worksite to check the roof of the coal mine, I saw an old man sitting about 30 meters from the actual spot where I was going to carry out the inspection. When I walked past him, he said, “Babu udhar mat jao, dekho vah danger area hai.” Which means — “Please do not go. That area is declared as danger zone.”
There was a wire fence just 30 meters ahead of me. I did not listen to the advice of that old man. I walked ahead and crossed the wire fence. When I walked 10 steps from the fence, I felt a forceful gust of wind turned me back and pushed me away from the fence. When I was pushed by the gust of the wind to about 20 meters away from the fence, I heard a big sound. When I looked back, I saw a huge block of stone measuring about one meter thick and one and a half “meter length fell at the area that was declared as danger zone.
When I went to see Baba this time, He scolded me heavily, “If I would not have pushed you away from the wire fence, would you be able to stand before me?”
I was speechless but just crying.
God is omnipresent and He always protects His children.

बाबा की मुझे चेतावनी
पहली चेतावनी
मैं 500 मीटर गहरी भूमिगत कोयला खदान में काम कर रहा था। हम (पर्यवेक्षक और कर्मचारी) अपने माथे पर बेल्ट के साथ हेडलाइट लगाकर नीचे उतरते थे। कभी-कभी हम कन्वेयर बेल्ट पर भी सवार होते थे। लेकिन कन्वेयर बेल्ट पूरी तरह से छत से एक समान दूरी बनाए नहीं रखती थी। जब कोई बेल्ट पर बैठता है तो यह कहीं नीचे हो सकता है जिससे हमें छत पर सिर टकराने से बचने के लिए आगे झुकना पड़ता था।
एक दिन मैं अपने सहायक के साथ कन्वेयर बेल्ट पर सवार होकर आगे की ओर सीम फेस पर जा रहा था जहाँ सभी कर्मचारी थे। घटनास्थल पर पहुँचने से लगभग 50 मीटर पहले, कन्वेयर बेल्ट अचानक अपने आप बंद हो गई। हम कन्वेयर से उतरे और काम करने की जगह पर चले गए और मैकेनिक से कहा कि वह जाँच करे कि कन्वेयर क्यों बंद हो गया है। मैकेनिक ने तीस मिनट तक कोशिश की लेकिन कोई खराबी नहीं पाई। फिर उसने बस स्विच दबाया और बेल्ट फिर से चलने लगी। मैंने इसे गंभीरता से नहीं लिया।
काम खत्म होने के बाद मैं शाम को अपनी दिनचर्या के अनुसार अपने आचार्यजी से मिलने गया। उन्होंने मुझसे पूछा, “तुमने बाबा को क्यों परेशान किया?” मैं समझ नहीं पाया कि मैंने बाबा को क्या परेशान किया: मैंने सोचा कि शायद मेरे मन में कुछ अवांछित विचार आ गए होंगे जिससे बाबा को परेशानी हुई होगी। बाबा कहा करते थे कि वे चाहते हैं कि उनके बच्चे प्रथम श्रेणी के व्यक्ति बनें। इसका मतलब है कि जो व्यक्ति सोचता है उसे बोलना चाहिए और जो वह कहता है उसे उसके अनुसार कार्य करना चाहिए। ये एक प्रथम श्रेणी के व्यक्ति के मापदंड हैं। आखिरकार रहस्य तब खुला जब मैं अगले सप्ताह बाबा से मिलने गया। बाबा ने कहा, “अगर मैंने कन्वेयर बेल्ट नहीं रोका होता, तो 25 मीटर के बाद, छत इतनी कम थी कि तुम दोनों के सिर पूरी तरह से टूट जाते।” मैं रोने लगा लेकिन बाबा ने कहा, “रोने से समस्या का समाधान नहीं होगा। तुम्हें भविष्य में ध्यान रखना होगा।”
दूसरी चेतावनी
आमतौर पर कोयला खदान में प्रत्येक शिफ्ट के लिए तीन प्रभारी और तीन सहायक होते थे। उस दिन मैं रात की शिफ्ट में ड्यूटी पर था और मेरे दो अन्य सहकर्मी छुट्टी पर थे। अचानक एक सेक्शन का पानी का पंप खराब हो गया और उस सेक्शन में पानी जमा होने लगा। पानी का स्तर तेजी से बढ़ने लगा। पंप पहले से ही पैंतालीस मिनट से काम करना बंद कर चुके थे। कार्यस्थल पर हर कोई घबरा गया क्योंकि अगर समस्या तीस मिनट के भीतर हल नहीं हुई, तो सभी महंगी मशीनें खराब हो जाएंगी और हम सभी को चार्जशीट मिल जाएगी।
रिपोर्ट मिलने पर, मैंने तुरंत हेडलाइट और माइनिंग शूज पहने और समस्या का समाधान करने के लिए पंप पर पहुंचा। मेरे जूते बाढ़ वाले पानी में डूबे हुए थे और मेरे पैर पूरी तरह से गीले थे। मुझे पंप में कोई खराबी नहीं दिखी। मैं गीले जूतों और बिना किसी सुरक्षा दस्ताने के मुख्य स्विचबोर्ड पर पहुंचा। जब मैं 11000 वोल्ट के मुख्य वितरण बोर्ड की जांच कर रहा था, तो मुख्य इलेक्ट्रीशियन भी उपकरणों के साथ आ गया। उन्होंने पाया कि स्विचबोर्ड के एक पैनल में रिसाव था जिसे मैं पहले अपने नंगे हाथों से छू रहा था। मुख्य इलेक्ट्रीशियन ने इसे ठीक किया और सभी पंप और मशीनें फिर से चालू हो गईं। मैं अगले शनिवार को जमालपुर में बाबा के पास गया। जब बाबा अगले दिन जागृति में आए, तो उन्होंने पीए दादा से मुझे अपने कमरे में भेजने के लिए कहा। उन्होंने मुझे डांटना शुरू कर दिया, “तुम लापरवाह लड़के हो। क्या तुम नहीं समझते! पिछली बार मैंने तुम्हें सावधानी से काम करने की चेतावनी दी थी। उस दिन, बिजली के स्विचबोर्ड में से एक खराब हो गया था, गीले जूते और नंगे हाथों से तुम बिजली के पैनल को छू रहे थे। अगर मैंने बिजली का करंट नहीं रोका होता, तो तुम्हारा क्या हश्र होता?” उन्होंने कहा, “अब मैं तुम्हें आखिरी चेतावनी दे रहा हूँ – जब तुम ड्यूटी पर हो तो हमेशा सुरक्षा उपकरण का उपयोग करो और सावधानी से काम करो! अगर कोई तुम्हें कोई सलाह देता है, तो ध्यान से सोचो और फिर काम पर आगे बढ़ो।”
तीसरी चेतावनी
एक दिन मैं भूमिगत खदान के निरीक्षण दौरे पर था। जब मैं कोयला खदान की छत की जाँच करने के लिए कार्यस्थल पर पहुँचा, तो मैंने देखा कि एक बूढ़ा आदमी उस वास्तविक स्थान से लगभग 30 मीटर की दूरी पर बैठा है जहाँ मैं निरीक्षण करने जा रहा था। जब मैं उसके पास से गुजरा, तो उसने कहा, “बाबू उधर मत जाओ, देखो वह ख़तरा क्षेत्र है।” जिसका अर्थ है — “कृपया मत जाओ। वह क्षेत्र ख़तरे का क्षेत्र घोषित है।”
मेरे ठीक 30 मीटर आगे एक तार की बाड़ थी। मैंने उस बूढ़े आदमी की सलाह नहीं मानी। मैं आगे बढ़ा और तार की बाड़ को पार कर गया। जब मैं बाड़ से 10 कदम दूर चला, तो मैंने महसूस किया कि हवा का एक तेज़ झोंका मुझे पीछे की ओर मोड़ रहा है और मुझे बाड़ से दूर धकेल रहा है। जब हवा के झोंके ने मुझे बाड़ से लगभग 20 मीटर दूर धकेल दिया, तो मैंने एक बड़ी आवाज़ सुनी। जब मैंने पीछे देखा, तो मैंने देखा कि लगभग एक मीटर मोटा और डेढ़ मीटर लंबा पत्थर का एक बड़ा टुकड़ा उस क्षेत्र में गिरा था जिसे ख़तरे का क्षेत्र घोषित किया गया था।
इस बार जब मैं बाबा के पास गया तो उन्होंने मुझे बहुत डांटा, “अगर मैं तुम्हें तार की बाड़ से दूर नहीं धकेलता, तो क्या तुम मेरे सामने खड़े हो पाते?” मैं अवाक था, लेकिन बस रो रहा था।
भगवान सर्वव्यापी हैं और वे हमेशा अपने बच्चों की रक्षा करते हैं।
